A green beer please!

I have to say “hats off” for the new branding position of Stella Artois. They understood all the key messages to succeed in this business: Retro AD + Environmental positioning. I love the effort Stella has made and hope this approach inspires others.

As they explain in the brief, they know that they are not perfect. But they are doing a number of things, which they hope will make for a better world.

The ads are outstanding, with a retro French touch, the packaging for each carved out of 60s fashioned materials including the can from a cool Citroen DS, film noir posters with a Twiggy style women and the glass forged from an old school tellies screen.

ABinBev is in charge of the promotion of the Belgian beer Stella Artois with “Recyclage de Luxe”. The print and outdoor advertising campaign had been realesed by the photographer Nick Clements and designed by Cristiana Couceiro.

The advertising campaign promotes cans made of 50% recycled aluminium, bottles made of 75% recycled glass, with corrugated packs, paper and cardboard point of sales material made from 100% recycled paper.

In my opinion, as we are beer drinkers, we all should support this kind of strategy!
And you, what do you think?
