My London Trench

The trench coat is one of the major elements of Londoner fashion. It has been wearing since 1900’s by both woman and man.

Thomas Burberry is the inventor of the gabardine fabric; he submitted a design for an army officer's raincoat to the United Kingdom War Office in 1901.

Today, Burberry has launched is own website dedicated to the Art of Trench, showing everyday people wearing Burberry trench coats. This project has been including photographers and trench coat owners to submit shots to add to the site. Users can then comment on and share photos, with the site linking directly to Facebook Connect.

I think it is an innovative way to reach out to a younger generation, thanks to this social media strategy. This website is also offering information about the history of the trench coat, showing pictures of the vintage models.

You can be part of this project and submit your picture, if you are wearing a Burberry Trench of course!
