La City is not only the Kingdom of traders, but also the new place to be!
I can hear you, already complaining… What is she talking about? This place is so boring but you are wrong because East London is moving and changing.
Changing face of East London
East London is today an area of regeneration, with a rising population. The redevelopment of the Docklands area began in the early 1980s, and the Thames Gateway project is now extending regeneration further east, with the London Thames Gateway Development Corporation responsible for planning and delivery of the project in East London.

East London is a vibrant and culturally interesting area, which is the fastest growing destination in London. We have so many fabulous places to explore, many of them not on the tourist trail. Yet.

Andaz: Quintessentially British, the George Pub is a rare step back in time. With its traditional oak-panelled walls and crafted ceiling one of the finest reproduction “Tudorbethan” interiors in London (and one of the crowning glories of its original architect, Colonel RW Edis) it's an old-fashioned treat.

Where to go
Rocket Gallery : Situated inside in trendy Shoreditch "Tea Building", this gallery lives up to the chic-ness. Art on show here seems to generally by the kind of designy, sleek, crisp-edged, often bit minimalisty sort of stuff -if you like that kind of thing- me, I personally prefer the messier stuff. Also some design exhibitions held here. Finally, worth mentioning are the artists books on sale in the back corner - I recommend making a pit-stop here before heading next door to the much cooler, Hales Gallery.

White Cube 2: The central concern when establishing the programme was to create an intimate space in which an artist could present a single important work of art or a coherent body of work within a focused environment, an idea that in some way, stemmed from the memorable experience of Walter de Maria’s ‘Earth Room’ in New York.

Spitafields Markets: Spitalfields is full of contrasts - quirky, historic, trend-settingly modern, tatty and smart. It's the kind of place where it pays to look beyond the obvious. I really like Spitafields market. Its a great place to go on an Sunday morning.
